Expectant Parent Classes
Here is a list of Expectant Parent Classes offered in our area. These classes are designed for women in their last 3-4 months of pregnancy and focus mainly on preparation for birth and infant care. Please call one of the Countryside Public Health offices if you have any questions or concerns:

Canby
Classes are three 5-week session held each year in January, May and September at 6:30pm in the Sr. Haven Conference Room. Call Sanford Canby Medical Center 507-223-7277 Ext 282 to register. Fee is $15 if not delivering at Sanford Hospital in Canby.
Dawson
Classes are held, usually four times a year, for those delivering at Johnson Memorial Hospital. Call 320-769-4323 for more information.
Montevideo
Countryside Public Health Service 320-269-2174
Classes are held in January, March, May, July, September and November from 6:30 - 9:30pm in the Minnesota Room at Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital. Call Barb Sorenson at 320-321-8416 or the Montevideo Medical Clinic at 320-269-6435 to register. Classes are free. They also offer other classes or one-on-one education. For special requests, please call Wendy Augeson at CCMH at (320) 321-8194.
Granite Falls
Classes are held from 6:00 - 8:30pm in the Granite Falls Hospital Board Room and are free of charge to those delivering at the Granite Falls Hospital, otherwise a $40 fee is charged. Call Teresa Lynne at 564-6226 to register.
Must have three moms register to hold class and maximum class size is ten moms. Last class in each
session moms will be certified in infant/child CPR.
Ortonville
Classes are held at the Ortonvilled Hospital in January, May, and September. They run for 2 weeks, usually 3 classes per session, from 6:00-8:30pm. To register call Maria Botker at the Ortonville Hospital 320-839-4025. Class is free OR $30 if not delivering at Ortonville Hospital.
Willmar
Class are offered by Kandiyohi County Public Health. Please contact your local Public Health Nurse or Kandiyohi County Public Health at (320) 231-7860 for dates/times of classes.
