School Gardens

School gardens are a wonderful way to use the schoolyard as a classroom, reconnect students with the natural world and increase access to fresh, healthy fruits and vegetables, and teach them valuable gardening and agriculture concepts and skills that integrate with several subjects, such as science, math, health and physical education, and social studies, as well as several educational goals, including personal and social responsibility.

Countryside SHIP is currently partnering with the following schools on School Garden projects:

  • Lac qui Parle Valley High School
  • Lac qui Parle Valley Middle School
  • Northside Elementary
  • Madison-Marietta-Nassau Elementary
  • Benson Junior/Senior High School
  • School of St. Peter
